== Biography ==

=== Family ===
Rullen Bellfore was born into the Bellfore family, one of the more influential families of [[The Mühn Prosperity|the Mühn Prosperity.]] For generations, the Bellfores had maintained considerable influence over the administration of the Prosperity, particularly in matters concerning ''land stewardship, windsteads, and the management of the great works surrounding [[The Hyme|the Hyme.]]'' The family had retained stewardship of one of Mühn's tracts for generations; a rarity for a single family to hold such a position for so long. Although the family never formally held a hereditary office, its position within Mühn society was sufficiently established that members of the family were frequently expected to serve in positions of public importance.

=== Exile ===
Shortly before Rullen's birth, his parents voluntarily entered exile to settle a '''generational debt''' incurred by one of his ancestors. Though largely ceremonial by the time it came due, the debt carried considerable cultural significance, and families of the Bellfores' standing would ordinarily perpetually defer such obligations to the next generation. His parents' decision to settle it themselves was regarded as an extraordinary act of selflessness, freeing their soon to be born son from the family's past transgressions. They also saw exile as an opportunity to remove him from the expectations surrounding the Bellfore name, allowing them to ''shape him away from Mühn's political circles'' and cultivate the qualities they believed would make him an exceptionally consequential Mühna.

=== Childhood ===
Rullen's childhood was spent largely abroad, as his parents moved frequently throughout their exile. He was raised among people of varied backgrounds, learning several languages, and becoming familiar with customs that many would consider antithetical to Mühn. His parents often entrusted him to the households of trusted scholars and artisans, only visiting occasionally. All while the family maintained forbidden connections to Mühn society, with letters, books, and family records arrived regularly. Rullen was gradually introduced to the history of the Prosperity and his family's place within it.

Rullen was seen simultaneously as ''an outsider and a native son who had yet to come home,'' and his eventual return was anticipated throughout Mühn for nearly two decades. Perpetual political and social maneuvering centered around the event.

The young heir's upbringing later became the subject of speculation, some believing that the breadth and circumstances of his education reflected his parents' desire to cultivate a life worthy of '''Rena Prime''' recognition.

=== Early Adulthood ===
Following the deaths of both of his parents, the Bellfore's exile formally came to an end. He returned to the Mühn Prosperity with little immediate political authority, but with ''a family name that remained considerably more powerful than his parents had ever hoped.'' His arrival marked the beginning of his attempt to reclaim the Bellfore legacy and establish himself within the society from which his family had been absent for most of his life.

Rullen was reinstated as ''steward of the Bellfore windstead estates and ancestral tract''. He was subsequently appointed '''emissary to the provinciarch'''. Not an auspicious post, given his family name, but the first step on a path his parents had laid before he was born.
