I was drafting the boundary lines for the railway entrance when a sudden, violent spasm rippled through my fingers. The charcoal stick slipped. I tried to wipe it away, but my steady grip was entirely absent, leaving only a messy blur of graphite across the paper.

Lifting the drawing to my eyes to assess the damage, a cold realization settled in. I could not hold the paper still. The edges of the map vibrated with a faint, persistent rustle against my fingertips, blurring the geometric lines I had spent hours perfecting. I tried to brace my wrist against the edge of the oak desk, but my steady grip was entirely absent, leaving only a messy blur of graphite across the page.

I tell myself it is merely physical fatigue. My eyes are heavy, and my hands are stained with the soot of a dozen failed drafts. But deep down, the absolute loss of control is unsettling. A machine with a misaligned gear cannot function. I must rest, clear the charcoal from my desk, and start anew tomorrow. The grand warehouse must be perfect, even if my hands refuse.
