		Following lengthy deliberations by the various judges of Kedet in this unprecedented trial of the non-citizen named Cannafus, a verdict has finally been reached. The charges brought against him were as follows:

		- Treason against the Chiefdom of Baylara,

		- Devotion to malevolent entities,

		- Robbery,

		- Assault.

		The investigation spanned several months, during which Cannafus was granted permission to remain in the city pending the conclusion of his trial. No unlawful behavior was observed during this period. On the contrary, the defendant proved to be a law-abiding individual. He kept a low profile - understandable, given the circumstances of his presence - despite possessing a temperament that, according to some sources, could potentially be explosive.

		The following points emerged from the deliberations among the court officials:

		- Cannafus did not, in fact, "betray" Baylara. This charge was leveled solely as a pretext for his summary execution.

		- Cannafus appears to believe in the existence of Matanuh, the "God of Flesh", an entity considered malevolent within Baylara.

		- Cannafus committed no theft. Indeed, he was found unconscious on the shores of Kedet, suffering from severe hunger and dehydration.

		- Cannafus was involved in a brawl at a tavern in Baylara, during which he sustained numerous blows and injuries. It is impossible to determine whether he instigated the altercation.

		Needless to say, the defendant’s conduct weighed heavily in his favor when it came to sentencing. The judges have recommended that Cannafus be exiled into the desert, provided with water, food, and a camel to ensure his safe passage beyond the borders of Hekamat.

		=== Divine Intervention ===
		As Cannafus prepared to leave Kedet, watched by a few saddened pairs of eyes, for some citizens had grown fond of his presence, our beloved Kheta-Semet stepped in front of the exile and his mount, blocking the path to the city’s great gates. She urged Cannafus to dismount, then spoke with him for a few moments:

		"Cannafus, you have shown great respect for our traditions, and I believe you have suffered enough. Your time here, though spent in comfort and kindness, has served as a form of punishment, forcing you to live far from your native lands. Alas, I cannot promise your return there. Such a place is far too dangerous for you now. However, I know of a nation where you might truly feel at home, a place where your manual and intellectual talents will be highly valued. Guards! Please, escort us to the ghast station."

		The guards led them to the ghast station, where the Queen gestured towards the south.

		"Head due south from here, and you will arrive at Koperdam. Ask to deliver this letter to Percival van der Berg on my behalf. He will take charge of matters from that point forward. Oh, and I also urge you to read this volume, I had it translated specifically for you. It explains how to care for your new mount. I wish you a safe journey. Like many of us, I am saddened to think that our paths will likely never cross again. Farewell, Cannafus."
