The First Railway of Koperdam - Era Nova, October, Year 1
The Government of Koperdam is pleased to announce the opening of Clockhaven Eastern Station, marking the completion of the nation's first operational railway.
Designed by Henry Westcroft, the station forms the first section of a growing rail network intended to unite the settlements of Koperdam through reliable and efficient transport. The railway now provides a direct connection between Clockhaven, the nation's capital, and Vestad to the east. Previously, travel between the two settlements required traversing around the harsh mountain that separated them. With the opening of the line, journeys that once demanded considerable time and effort can now be completed swiftly by rail.
To oversee the continued expansion of this network, the government also announces the formation of Koperdam Railway Company, the national company responsible for the planning, construction, and operation of all future rail infrastructure throughout the Technate.
While Percival van der Berg continues his expedition beyond Koperdam's borders, work at home continues unabated. His absence has not slowed the nation's progress, with engineers and labourers working under Henry Westcroft's direction to deliver one of the most ambitious public works yet undertaken.
Clockhaven Eastern Station is intended to become the first of several stations serving the capital as the railway network expands. Additional routes are already being surveyed, internally and internationally, with the long-term aim of linking every major settlement within Koperdam.
