My gaze turned upwards, throat tight, as whispers filled my mind.
He is not like them.
I gazed around this place. I had overseen the construction of these past few months.
A stranger in this place.
As I looked towards the horizon, towards Kheta-Kedet, I frowned.
A foreign look about his face.
I forced myself to look away after a few minutes. I needed to be calm... I needed-
His falling tears like waves break on the shores.
My fingers moved to wipe them away. I knew what I needed, and I knew it wasn't coming.
Home was but a distant memory. This new home? This new nation, I had to be content... right?
My hands shook as I tugged on my cloak, nightmares tugging at my mind.
And with his head bowed low.
I took a heavy breath, overwhelmed, as I sunk to my knees.
Kneeling in regret.
I closed my eyes, letting those tears come. I needed to feel it... I needed to still feel human.
Though very bitterly he wept.
My mouth opened, as I began singing in a soft hum, the songs of my homeland.
He sang out in an unfamiliar tone.
A melody we had not known.
