Mühn Prosperity/Ferramoss Cultivation Opens New Path to Iron

Mühn fenwrights have announced the successful cultivation of ferramoss, a curious ecological wonder found thriving in the iron-heavy mineral pools unique to Mühn Proper.

The initial strain of wild ferramoss was discovered growing in the shadow of the Hyme's Wall and, through countless generations, was cultivated into a productive colony.

The moss appears to possess a particular appetite for iron, drawing the metal from the water as it grows and retaining it as small nodules. When harvested and placed through a succession of chemical baths, the ferramoss gives up its iron.

The process is not a particularly generous one. Considerable industry would need to be established to cultivate, harvest, and treat ferramoss at meaningful quantities, and its present yield makes it an unlikely replacement for conventional iron mining.

However, the method does align with the Mühn Prosperity's ambitions to refrain from violating the natural order of its land.

For now, ferramoss represents less a feasible iron industry than a new way of thinking about iron: that it need not always be dug from the earth, but may, under the proper conditions, be persuaded to gather itself.
