Governor Stella Heartwood convenes an unprecedented council amid the Great Drought and Deadly Winter

In the midst of a rough winter, right after an unprecedented drought, Governor Stella Heartwood has announced the convening of the Coronadan Council in Demeralia.

An action like this has never been taken in Coronadan history, with every single convening of the council being called to elect a new Governor.

"It's unprecedented, but necessary," Demeralia Mayor Galloway stated, "We're all suffering right now, if the Governor can figure something out, then we'll make it."

After the start of the Great Drought, with the vast majority of crops failing, things seemed like they couldn't get much worse, and yet they did. The "Deadly Winter", as many Coronadans call it, resulted in a drastic drop in temperatures. The Union, already suffering, has almost been put on the edge.

In the proclamation, Governor Stella Heartwood not only invited the three towns to discussions, but Calvera, the northern territory, as well. It's unknown what the purpose of the convention is, but Coronadans meet it with cautious optimism.

Lee Fig, 57, a hunter in Demeralia, reflected this feeling. "Ask me last year, I'd give the governor a stink eye. Now? I'm willing to follow whatever gets us out of this mess." The sentiment was also shared by fellow Demeralian Troy Johnston, 39, who works in the town market. "I trust the Governor", Johnston said.
