Biography & History
Early Life
Semet was raised in a noble family of high influence. During the Grey Night, she lost her family and was sent to the Temple of Ta-Hapi.
Crowning
Semet was recognized and legitimated as Queen of Kedet after The Miracle, and drove the Deceiving Mages out of the city. Then, as every ruler, she endured The Queen's Daybreak and left the kingdom for 3 months. She set sail for the northern and western continents, where she discovered what the world had to offer. Upon her safe return, she was officially recognized as the Chosen of the Six and ascended the throne.
Religion
Like all of Kedet’s leaders, Semet is a devout follower of The Six. She dedicated her life, particularly during her late youth, to Ta-Hapi, the Priestess. That is why she chose her as The First, alongside Ib-Deben (The Second) and Ib-Nbw (The Third).
Personality & Appearance
Personality
Childhood
During her younger years, Semet was energetic, optimistic, curious, and sometimes impertinent. Confined to the Guild, she loved eavesdropping on conversations as these were her only social interactions. The rest of the time, she drew maps of Kedet to travel beyond the walls of her prison. Later, she began creating new ones, featuring new buildings and urban planning projects. This impressed her instructors, who had never taught her this kind of thing. And yet, it was later discovered that her room was filled with maps, but also portraits of her family and strangers, paintings of the city, and imaginary places. For in reality, Semet had always been a thoughtful person. All that time spent alone had forced her to develop an extraordinary imagination.
Queen Semet
After the tragedies of her adolescence and the events of the Forfeiture, Semet changed drastically. First, she became much quieter. Most of the time, she silently observed people, seemingly judging them without a word. However, later on, she revealed herself to be composed and thoughtful again, hence her withdrawal from conversations. It is also believed that she remained silent to grieve. Since then, Semet has transformed into someone very kind and polite, speaking in a soft and reassuring voice, undoubtedly reflecting her upbringing at the Temple of Ta-Hapi, which greatly appeals to the people. She appears understanding and trustworthy, and incline to do good.
Appearance
Semet, unlike almost all the other Kedeti, has orange eyes, giving her a very distinctive look. It is said that her irises became this color on the Day of the Forfeiture, when the Six chose her as the new Queen of Kedet. Her face reveals very little emotion and seems fixed in an expression of benevolence. She stands 1.80 meters tall, a stark contrast to her subjects, who are considerably shorter. Her dark skin is free of tattoos, and reflecting intense athletic training among the followers of Thoth. She never appears in public without her regal attire, concealing her eyes behind an almost opaque veil. Only her faint smile remains visible.
Relationships
Osiris (Serrano)
Early Encounter
Semet met Osiris in the year 2 after The Forfeiture.
Initially wary, she recognized something in him that prompted her to strike a deal: in exchange for a flying mythical creature, he was to build her palace on the hill near the Mistra-Itrw River, alongside the Kedeti architects.
Percival van der Berg (Technate of Koperdam)
Early Encounter
Surprisingly, Percival was the first leader Semet met in person during the first year after The Forfeiture.
This was undoubtedly due to their shared aspirations regarding exploration. Thus, after Koperdam gifted them a map of Hekamwt, they decided to explore the rest of the world together.
