The Queen-Kheta
I stumbled through the door in shock.
I was here.
I saw a marketplace to my left and walked past it. Crowds of citizens littered the streets, filtering from one place to the next. Everyone there had a destination except for me, and I quickly became extremely aware of how out of place I looked. People that had weapons held them in sheaths, so, in an attempt to look more natural, I tucked my trident into the clothes wrapped around my waist and pretended that the cold metallic handle bouncing off of my back every few steps was comfortable.
The crowd began to push against me like a tidal wave, sending me backwards. They were all looking at something, or rather, someone. I turned around, almost colliding with Queen Semet headfirst.
One half of her face was covered with a veil, the other with a smile. We were in the center of the crowd now, and I realized that they were all looking at her.
"Your dinner awaits you, Seras."
She spoke as if we weren't surrounded by an eager crowd on all sides, as if it was only me and her. She began to walk away, beckoning me to follow.
