The Queen's Voyage

Dear Percival Van der Berg,
Your messengers have delivered the map you promised. I must confess I'm pleasantly surprised by its quality, both in terms of precision and quality of drawing, but also the chosen paper. Could you tell me more about your techniques for tracing and making papyrus? No, wait… is it really papyrus? I need us to discuss that during our trip.
As agreed, your arrival will be marked by great pomp and ceremony. I noted your previous appreciation for our honey and also mean to present you with a new culinary creation that we intend to launch in a few months. We have also already begun the festivities for my departure, which you are welcome to join. Once you are well-fed and rested, we will be ready to begin our journey.
I must remind you, however, how much restraint I expect from you. While we will not be in the presence of guards, nor on the territory of the regal city, as Queen of Kedet, you must at all times maintain a level of respect equal to my majesty. And regarding how we address each other, I stand by my position: once all witnesses have been left beyond the horizon, I authorize you to call me by my first name. I will do the same for you.
I understand your concern for someone who has seemingly always known wealth, luxury, and comfort, but fear not. Despite my appearance, I too have traveled alone across seas and oceans for months at a time. I know the life of an adventurer. Please do not underestimate me. Remember, I was chosen by the Six.
I cannot wait to begin our exploration and discover what lies beyond the oceans. After all, I am certain the Gods created far more than Kedet knows of yet.
Wishing you a peaceful arrival, The world will be ours.
-Kheta-Semet, Queen of Kedet.
