The sea is such a fickle thing. In one moment, she may be calm and gentle, my boat drifting slowly against the waves. The next, heavy storms and tides will appear out of nowhere, as I barely cling on to my life.
The storm came without warning as I was sailing. My original plan was to sail westwards, but fate had other plans for me.
The winds started to blow stronger, and the waves began to grow more aggressive. My boat was fighting a losing battle, as eventually the wooden hull started to give way.
My boat was slowly giving in to the pressure, and I began to panic, with a piece of rubble eventually knocking me unconscious before I could even recompose myself and plan my next move.
I do not know how much time has passed, but I was surprised to see myself alive, clinging onto a broken plank.
Looking around, my boat was in ruins, and the storm around me had calmed.
I truly had nothing left.
However, just as I began to accept my fate, I spotted something in the distance.
Land.
With what little strength I had left, I dragged myself towards the unknown territory, soon collapsing onto the ground from exhaustion...
