My first memory is of a dream.

I saw clouds swirl above me as I was surrounded by blue, then, a loud crash.

After the crash, the dream ended, but I was still surrounded by blue, just a different shade, and this time, it was covered in what looked like veins.

I outstretched my hand to one of them, intending to trace the delicate surface carefully.

Without warning, the vein shook, and I pulled back, slamming my hand into another.

It cracked like an eggshell, and now that side of whatever I was in was splintered by a large crack.

I also noticed that I was completely submerged.

I began to panic, but then I realized that I wasn't drowning. I don't think that I even needed to breathe.

A voice cut through my confusion, spinning me towards the source. It was distant, but even from the limited exposure to it I had, the person on the other side of the veil sounded excited.

After a few seconds, I heard what they were saying.

"Come on... any second now, break..."

I grabbed the surface with both hands and began to rip.
