Before The Council
An entry in Semet’s journal…
One hour. Only one hour remains before the leaders of all Hekamwt sit at my table to discuss the future of our nations. And the task of presiding over the session falls to me. It is an honor, yes… but above all, an immense burden. Should I fail, the war will drag on, and no common ground will be found… We will remain alone in this vast desert. Men and women will continue to starve while Kedet grows wealthy, unable to share its riches with anyone. And finally, those cursed arches will still stand, ready to unleash infernal troops upon our cities. I cannot fail. I must not fail.
