Osiris is a mysterious man with pale grey eyes who consistently wears a mask covering the lower part of their face. They have grey-toned skin and carry a faint smell of rot, though most who encounter them can attribute this to poor clothing care and his life in the desert. he doesn't correct this misconseption.
In truth, Osiris is an undead being, though they keep this secret close to their heart. Such a mystic state would not be accepted in their homeland of Kheta-Kedet, forcing Osiris to conceal their true nature. this weighs him down, but not to the point of hiding. he wears clothing to obscure his skin from the heat, and while he has not decayed to the point of burning, he still experiences varying discomforts from the heat.
Of recent, Osiris has begun to draw closer to their homeland, though they appear frightened by the prospect of getting too close. Instead, they have settled in the neighboring wild-west nation of Serrano, where they remain a citizen despite their banishment from Kheta-Kedet. there, Osiris has gained a sense of power and influence, helping build up the nation and its people.
Biography & History
Life in Kheta-Kedet
Osiris was born within Kheta-Kedet, where they lived among a society deeply influenced by its religious traditions and reverence for the divine. theu diligently followed the 6 gods, and dedicated themselves to the betterment of the society, carving his name into history, despite being a male, he began to have power, too much power....
after unknown circumstances, Osiris was banished... leaving Kheta-Kedet against their own desires, they changed their name and took on a new identity, obscuring who they once where so they could live a new life without history holding them back.
Life in Serrano
Following their banishment, Osiris travelled across the world, struck by despair they stopped taking care of themselves, they stopped trying to find a way to right their wrongs and return home, eventually retiring to a cave to starve... and yet one day a year later, they woke with a start, their skin felt cold, dead, but they where alive, there was only one reason they would be alive, Kheta-Kedet, someone had to have brought them back, but that didn't make any sense to Osiris, magic was banned there, but no one else knew who they where. eventually they traveled westward and eventually settled in Serrano. The nation provided a distant refuge from Kheta-Kedet, allowing Osiris to establish a new life away from the scrutiny of their homeland... but even now they longed for answers on what had brought them back.
Return to Kheta-Kedet
Despite their attempts to distance themselves from their homeland, Osiris has recently begun travelling closer to Kheta-Kedet. Their approach appears to be accompanied by a mixture of fear, curiosity and unresolved feelings towards the land they once called home.
Their encounters with Semet and the people of Kheta-Kedet have brought Osiris closer to the homeland they once feared returning to, and closer to uncovering the mystery behind their resurrection. but they are running out of time, their body has begun to decay, to fall to its undead form.
Personality & Appearance
Personality
Osiris is a mysterious and guarded individual who rarely reveals their true thoughts or intentions. Their experiences have made them cautious around unfamiliar people, particularly those who might discover their undead nature. they struggle with trauma of being forced to leave their homeland, of their people turning on them.
Despite their reserved nature, Osiris is capable of forming connections with others and appears to possess a desire for belonging. Their actions suggest that, beneath their secrecy, they remain deeply connected to their former homeland. they long for connection, for the feeling they had surrounded by temples and gods, Serrano is an absent land of such faith, of interconnecting peoples, the people of serrano tend to keep to themselves, tend to mind their own business, and while that lets Osiris keep their secrets, it comes at a cost of not truly knowing their neighbors or who they can trust.
Appearance
Osiris has grey-toned skin and pale grey eyes. Their lower face is almost always concealed beneath a mask, making their appearance difficult to read and contributing to their mysterious reputation.
They typically wear clothing suited to travelling through the harsh environments surrounding Serrano and Kheta-Kedet. Their clothing is often worn and weathered, further contributing to the assumption that their unusual appearance and faint smell of rot are simply the result of poor clothing care.
They have heavy eyebags, and wear clothing that covers most their skin, tending not to shy away from browns blacks and whites, but typically wearing neutral cloathing.
They have armor they hold dear, brought with them from their home, diamond, encrusted with iron detailing and enchantments to enhance its durability, longevity, and effectiveness.
Relationships
Semet
Osiris's relationship with Semet, the Queen-Goddess of Kheta-Kedet, is currently developing. Their recent encounter brought Osiris face-to-face with their homeland once again, despite their efforts to remain distant from it.
Kheta-Kedet
Osiris maintains a complicated relationship with their former homeland. Although banished from Kheta-Kedet, they have recently begun to approach its borders once again.
