The expansion of Clockhaven demands flawless logistics. Without a centralized, secure storage vault near the primary workshops, our supply lines for raw copper and coal will stall before winter sets in. For three days and nights, I have locked myself away in the study to finalize these structural calculations, refusing the quiet distractions of sleep. The Technate does not build on approximations, after all.

Yet, tonight, the ink does not cooperate.

I was drafting the boundary lines for the western loading bay when a sudden, violent spasm rippled through my fingers. The charcoal stick slipped. A dark, jagged smudge now tears across the center of the rendering, obscuring the front view of the warehouse. I tried to wipe it away, but my steady grip was entirely absent, leaving only a messy blur of graphite across the paper.

I tell myself it is merely physical fatigue. My eyes are heavy, and my hands are stained with the soot of a dozen failed drafts. But deep down, the absolute loss of control is unsettling. A machine with a misaligned gear cannot function. I must rest, clear the charcoal from my desk, and start anew tomorrow. The grand warehouse must be perfect, even if my hands refuse.
