I have recently traded with a friendly man from "Order of the Mystic Hand". Never heard of them before but he came with a number of artifacts. One of them, a "Orb of Power" caught my attention. I felt it talking to me, begging me to take it.
I gave the man an old spear from my grandfather, not even near as interesting or even magical as this orb but everyone has different tastes I guess.
This orb is a weird thing. I contacted an elder that my father used to know and asked if she knew anything about this orb. She told me a lot, maybe a lot of information I didn't even want, but one of those things she told me is that it is a magic artifact.
Magic?
What exactly is magic?
I have heard a bit about it while my father was still around but he never had a high opinion of it. But what this elder told me was fascinating!
And this Orb of Power? This could be the door which lets Baylara go into a golden age, perhaps even go further than that!
However, this power has already shown some consequences. My dreams, once quiet and peaceful, are now plagued by nightmares. Unexplainable horrors I never thought of before. Is that a sign from the gods? To stay away from these artifacts?
But can I really just throw away such an opportunity?
If the rewards from this can make Baylara even just a bit richer, just a bit better to live in, just a bit stronger?
Is it perhaps worth it to abandon some of these gods?
For now I have paid a few traders to travel to other markets and try to get more magical artifacts. I just hope they don't find anything in the Kheta-Kedet, for my relation to them is currently good and I would rather not sour it by explaining why I need these magical artifacts for.
For now I have to just wait and hope that my nightmares don't get worse.
Perhaps I should take up a hobby.
I heard that fishing is supposed to be relaxing.
