When the Kaptein arrived in Orutogams, he encountered a slave trader.
At first, Harakhas mistook the trader for Percival van der Berg due to the trader travelling on a flying white squid.
The slave trader was passing through the region and had come from Coronado, a place Harakhas had heard of before. They were also familiar with Percival van der Berg, suggesting that he had already become quite famous for his map of Aquila.
The slaves were purchased because they could be of use to the people of Orutogams, a village which had been in a slow decline.
The Kaptein asked about the flying squid and learned that Coronado had acquired the creatures from Kheta-Kedet, a kingdom lying beyond Serri//aes.
After the slave trader departed, Harakhas remained in Orutogams for one day before returning to Hais!am with a handful of slaves.
