An Angel In The City
An Angel In The City
As I strolled through the market crowd, I finally met him. I knew his predecessor had passed on, but, thanks to the Six, one Icari is often replaced by another. And there he stood, his majestic wings fully exposed. He was young and seemed a bit lost.
I had recently read a book recommended by Sitem. It was about the Icari and, more importantly, about how many past Queens had needed to consult them. I just supposed it was my turn now.
I simply took him to the Temple of Ta-Hapi. After the long journey and the harrowing ordeals he appeared to have endured, he needed only one thing: a good meal. We sat together, silent at first. I let him eat and enjoy the quiet. After a long while, I finally spoke:
"Seras… There is something you need to know."
…………………………………………….
"That is why I need your help. You are likely the only one who can assist me. Would you agree to work for me as a healer? In return, Kedet will provide you with everything you need. What do you say?"
I knew that by putting it this way, I might come across as desperate. And, truth be told, I probably was… at least a little.
