Józef knocks on Alexandra's door with audible anger. > "Miss, I request you for but a moment."

He yelled over the still shut door. Alexandra wakes up from the nap that she took at her desk.

"Please come in"

She said while waking up, not realising the situation yet. As the door opened, Józef immediately barged in.

"There were people there. The forest you asked me to decimate, there were people living in it."

Józef corrected his tie.

"Can you — Please, explain this."

She wipes her eyes, forming slight tears. Her exhausted look meets his gaze.

"Oh, that. Yeah, the forest was so dense, we could barely move through it. And the fact that people actually lived there made it even sadder than it already was. We gave them 30% of the wood, so they should be happy."

"...Mi- Alexandra. Was that not their home? They clearly knew not what we were doing."

Józef stared at her blankly.

"I was one of the leaders of this operation, yet you withheld this information from me?"

She tilted her head in a mocking way.

"This information is irrelevant. Our priorities are to expand and make the state richer, which also makes us richer."

She takes her pen and starts writing.

"You should not worry about the people that lived there. We will just find a new place for them, and it should be our goal to civilise and assimilate them either way. You are one of our best men, so you should not concern yourself with such trivial matters."
