THE HEROES OF APEP-DUAT HAVE RETURNED!
After years spent traversing the globe and destroying malevolent arches, the heroes of Apep-Duat have finally returned, led by General Misra.
Welcomed as legends and cheered throughout the city, the formidable leader of the anti-magic organization announced their achievements before the assembled citizenry, kneeling before our monarch:
"Great Queen Kheta-Semet, it is an honor to report back to you and to our entire nation. Over the course of a thirty-eight-month journey across all of Aquila, we have witnessed many lands. Everywhere - truly everywhere - horrific black frames, as if sprung from the very earth, stood poised to spew their corruption into the world. My loyal men and women and I have utterly pulverized them!"
The crowd erupted in jubilation, showering the members of Apep-Duat with praise and gratitude, while Misra held a worn-out pickaxe high in the air.
"My Queen, thanks to our collective efforts, a total of eighty-seven portals have been destroyed. Having seen them up close, and having even fought the creatures that occasionally emerge from them, I find my conviction in your hatred of magic only strengthened."
The General rose and placed her axe into Semet’s hands, then knelt once more, positioning the sharp edge of the blade against her own throat, a gesture that drew a collective gasp of shock and surprise from the crowd.
"Chosen Goddess of the Six, I once again place my life in your hands. Tell me what my next task shall be, and I will carry it out for your glory and that of Kedet!"
