My feet pull me towards the river before my thoughts can determine it's actual location. I stare up at the stars and begin to trudge forwards, as if my destination has been told to my body, but not me. I can see the pathway in the stars sometimes, hugging their edges and winding through the center like a red snake. Maybe it's just an illusion, but It doesn't matter. I know that I'm going the right way.

In the ancient world, the blood river of Roselia was the key to cheating death, the fountain of immortality. The blood of a Roselian can create totems of undying, and the river is pure. When a member of the royal family or a soldier died, they would be bled dry in the river and totems would be cast onto the bank, half submerged. Roselian totems were stronger than those of the present day, too. They could be used multiple times, could cure diseases, and were able to bestow enhanced strength, sight, and many other attributes to its wielder. When Roselia disappeared, so did the river, and its contents were lost to time.

In the modern day, those who know of this story simply call it a myth.

Except for me.

I drew to a halt abruptly. A town was in front of me, blocking the path. This was the first sign of life that I had seen since leaving the Starhood, and I decided that I would need to stop here. I was exhausted, anyways. Maybe the path had taken me here for a deeper reason.
