Establishment of the Yumata Springs Federal Area
Establishment of the Yumata Springs Federal Area

After weeks of negotiations between Yumata Province and the Federal Government of Coronado, an agreement has been reached on the establishment of the new Yumata Springs Federal Area (YSFA).
Before negotiations began, the area that is now the YSFA had been in a period of decline after the ratification of the Articles of Coronado, as Yumata Springs lost its regional significance to Riverston. Further economic decline led to a major population decrease, as most residents of the once prosperous town moved to the provincial seat of power in Riverston, or the rapidly growing Calvara province.
Yumata Province and the Federal Government, at the sight of this regional decline, began negotiations for increased Federal control and investment, and came to an agreement today.
Essentially, the area will nominally remain under provincial control, with residents being able to hold provincial positions of power. However, on the ground level, the Federal government will be given free reign.
Numerous ideas for the YSFA include new mines, farms, and a revitalization of Yumata Springs; however, more significant proposals include establishing a new national capital in the area.
