LoomLimit
LoomLimit replaces the vanilla loom with a custom banner-designing menu that lifts the game's normal 6 layer cap. Server owners can configure how many layers banners are allowed to have, so you can make much more detailed banner designs than vanilla allows.
What LoomLimit Does
- Gives banners a configurable maximum number of pattern layers, instead of vanilla's fixed limit of 6
- Provides a custom loom menu with a paged grid so you can browse every available pattern
- Shows a live preview of your banner as you add layers, before you commit to anything
- Charges 1 dye per layer, same as vanilla, taken only when you apply a layer
How to Use It
- Right click a Loom block to open the custom menu
- Place a banner in the banner slot and a dye in the dye slot.
- Browse the pattern grid at the bottom and click a pattern to preview it on the banner.
- Click Confirm Layer to lock that pattern into the banner
- Repeat steps 3–4 to keep adding layers, up to the server's configured maximum.
- When you're happy with the design, take the item from the output slot.
Use the arrows on either side of the pattern grid to page through all the available patterns, and check the info book in the middle for how many layers you've used out of the maximum.
Admin Commands
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
| /loomlimit reload | Reloads the config file and reports the current max layer count. |
Configuration
Server admins can adjust these settings in the plugin's config file:
| setting | Deafult | What it controls |
|---|---|---|
| max-patterns | 16 | Maximum number of pattern layers a banner can have. |
| gui-title | Custom Loom | The title shown at the top of the loom menu. |
| patterns-per-page | 27 | How many patterns are shown per page in the grid (capped at 27). |
After changing the config, run /loomlimit reload to apply the changes without restarting the server.
